Learning·Hope·Change

Clear thinking about
the future of schooling,
for the people deciding it.

A non-profit research and foresight community. We study the forces reshaping education: AI, demography, governance, and how learning itself is designed. That work becomes analysis school communities and their leaders can act on, together.

Look to horizons to find the light.
02 · Focus

Where four worlds
overlap.

K12 Futures works at one deliberate intersection: rigorous research, real technology, human-centered design, and honest foresight. Every colour in our mark stands for one of them.

01 · Research

Educational research & best practice

What does the evidence actually say?

Syntheses and case studies filtered for relevance to real school systems — theory that survives contact with a Tuesday morning classroom.

02 · Innovation

Industry innovation & technology

What does teaching mean when every student has a machine collaborator?

AI, assessment, and edtech examined on their merits — beyond vendor narratives and moral panic alike.

03 · Design

Human-centered methodology

What is a school for, when the building is no longer the bottleneck?

Learning environments designed with — not just for — the students, teachers, and communities who live in them.

04 · Foresight

Forecasting & strategic planning

How do leaders make decisions their communities live with for a decade?

Scenarios and decision architecture for superintendents, trustees, and everyone whose choices outlast the budget cycle.

03 · Community

A community
that shows up.

K12 Futures began in 2019 as a global community of education innovators. When schools closed in March 2020, we did what communities do: we convened. Within days we were running “Taking Schools Online” panels, weekly meetups, and teacher talks. Educators on three continents shared what was working while the ground was still moving.

That instinct hasn't changed. The formats have grown up: research, writing, leadership development. But the premise is the same: the future of schooling is decided by communities, not delivered to them.

To travel fast, go alone.
To travel far, go together.
